Kresge Auditorium at MIT

Featuring pianist Alexander Korsantia

Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major

Symphony No. 10 in E minor

Sergei Prokofiev

Dmitri Shostakovich

The CSO celebrates two monumental Russian composers at MIT on March 20, 2016. We welcome back acclaimed pianist Alexander Korsantia for Prokofiev’s brilliant Piano Concerto No. 3 — one of the most challenging, virtuosic concertos in the piano repertoire.

The CSO also performs Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, a fever-dream of tragedy, terror, and triumph that the composer premiered in 1953, shortly after the death of Stalin.

We are proud to spotlight the Cambridge Community Center at this concert.
