Natalie Shelton has been a member of the CSO’s percussion section since 2007, has been section leader since 2009, and was proud to join the board of directors in 2011. Growing up, Natalie was quiet and shy, but discovering the drums in her 7th grade music class helped bring her out of her shell. She made her performance debut as the Energizer Bunny in the school play, and has been hooked on percussion ever since. In addition to the CSO, Natalie subs with several local community orchestras, and plays marching snare and bass with a Boston-based marching band. At her day job, Natalie works in the monkey business – as a trainer of service monkeys for the disabled at a non-profit called Helping Hands. When she’s not drumming or monkey-training, Natalie enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and hanging out with friends.
