ALLISON ECK

Allison is the Vice President of the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra and has played clarinet in the orchestra since 2012. She has been on the Board of Directors since 2016 and was President from 2019-2023.

Allison works at Harvard Medical School as the speechwriter and executive communications manager for Dean George Daley. Previously, she was the presidential development writer at MIT, drafting correspondence in the voice of MIT’s president, Rafael Reif, to the Institute’s most high-profile donors and prospects. Prior to that, she was a science journalist for the PBS science documentary series, NOVA, for seven years.

In addition to playing music, Allison enjoys reading, cooking, baking, biking, golfing, and making homemade ice cream. She graduated from Hamilton College with degrees in physics and comparative literature, and has an adorable cat named Button.
