Amane Takaishi, a native of Japan, began her early training with Mitsuyo Kishibe in Tokyo. At the age of 13, she moved to the U.K. and studied ballet with Desmond Kelly, OBE at Elmhurst School of Dance in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, followed by Central School of Ballet, under the direction of Sara Matthews. Amane extended her training through summer intensives at Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School. In 2013, she received BA with honors in Dance and Performing Arts from Kent University, U.K.
Highlights from her professional career as a ballet dancer include dancing as a Snow Queen in Urban Nutcracker with City Ballet of Boston in her first year, 2019. She has also danced with Eugene Ballet Company, Ballet Tucson and A&A Ballet, Chicago. In the Boston area, she has worked with Gianni Di Marco and danced in his productions; A Midsummer Night’s Dance (2018), The Nutcracker (2020), and Discombobulated (2020).
Amane is thrilled to dance with the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra again. This is her third time and she feels very lucky to work with such a wonderful team.
