Artistic Collaborations
The CSO has pursued a number of artistic collaborations over the years in order to joyfully and equitably bring great classical music to Cambridge and beyond. We’ve been honored to join forces with these organizations:
Annual full-orchestra performance and side-by-side concert with Perkins School for the Blind (Watertown)
Concerts at Hebrew SeniorLife (Roslindale)
Chamber music performances at Cadbury Commons at Cambridge, Kickstand Cafe (Arlington), the Center for Arts at the Armory (Somerville), the Cambridge Public Library, and the Somerville Public Library
Ongoing efforts with choreographer Gianni Di Marco to bring ballet and live full-orchestra performance together: Stravinsky’s The Firebird, Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet (in progress)
Commissions by award-winning film composer Conrad Pope, a world premiere by composer Nan Schwartz, and commissions for children’s music by composer Allen Feinstein
Frequent vocal collaborators with world-renowned soloists and choral groups from the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, UMass Lowell’s University Choir and Chamber Singers, and the Nashoba Valley Chorale
The CSO makes a point to collaborate with a wide range of interdisciplinary nonprofits and artists including dancers, composers, actors, and soloists. Interested? Please contact music.director@cambridgesymphony.org.
