The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra’s annual Family Concert is a chance for music lovers of all ages to enjoy a variety of classical music for the whole family.
This concert includes Prokofiev‘s beloved retelling of Peter and the Wolf: the classic story set to music, with a cast of characters including a duck, a pet cat, and the foreboding wolf himself. Leslie Wu Foley, the Helaine B. Allen Director of Education and Community Engagement for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, narrates.
We’re also thrilled to invite New England Conservatory young artist Nicolas Bass to perform the final movement of the Elgar Cello Concerto.
After the concert, children are invited to our instrument petting zoo, where they can try out string, woodwind, and brass instruments themselves.
The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra thanks the Massachusetts Cultural Council for supporting our 2019-20 season.
